Fluttering butterflies

Who doesn’t love butterflies? Butterflies are much loved and symbolise freedom. They create a colourful atmosphere and put a smile on your face.

Butterfly Art

Butterflies were particularly popular in the Art Nouveau period (1890–1914), a movement that placed great emphasis on symbolism and mystery. The association of butterflies with metamorphosis and movement was perfectly in tune with the social changes and industrialisation taking place at the time. This led to spectacular butterfly art.

During the Art Deco period (1920–1939), the designs took on a completely different form. Butterflies continued to feature in this movement, but were rendered in a more geometric and streamlined style.

Lighting

Tiffany lamps are often inspired by nature. Butterflies and dragonflies, in particular, play a significant role. They evoke a sense of freedom. Create a cosy atmosphere in your room with a Tiffany table lamp or Tiffany floor lamp.

Tiffany Table lamp Fly Away Architect clearly demonstrates just how intricate the Tiffany process is. The glass shade, made up of countless pieces of Tiffany glass, is curved inwards in a sensuous shape. The iridescent glass wings of Tiffany Wall Lamp Satin Butterfly look like satin. The base of Tiffany Table lamp Settle Down resembles a vase. This cast piece is framed by bronze leaves, between which mosaic pieces of glass in green and deep red sparkle.
