In full bloom

After months of grey and dreary weather, yellow daffodils and purple crocuses give people the spring fever. As soon as the sun shines for a while, they shoot out of the ground. It is now springtime in full swing! The blossom is everywhere.

Flowers have their own language. Take the lotus, for example. Because its petals open during the day and close at night, this flower has become a symbol of light (the sun). The ancient Egyptians declared the flower sacred for this reason. The daffodil may look simple, but it is very vain. In the heart of the calyx, the flower displays a "trumpet". With this, the flower chimes out "Here I am!" The golden yellow colour is heart-warming to behold.

Some flowers are very rare. For example, the wild lapwing flower may take up to eight years to bloom.

Iconic is the oh so beloved Dutch tulip. The colours in which this flower appears are unimaginable.

It is obvious that flowers are incredibly inspiring. In serene whites, delicate pastel shades or just bright colours.
